Description Aims and Objectives

The aims of the Citizens Advice Service are:

* To provide the advice people need for the problems they face

* To improve policies and practices that affect people's lives

The Citizens Advice Service provides free, independence, confidential and impartial advice to everyone on their rights and responsibilities It values diversity, promotes equality and challenges discrimination


Services Provided 

General advice available without appointment by phone on 242266 or in person 

Monday         9:30 to 4:00

Tuesday        9:30 to 4:00

Wednesday    9:30 to 6:30

Thursday       9:30 to 4:00

Friday           9:30 to 12:30

The Money Advice Service is available by appointment only





Organisation and Management

This is a local charity affiliated to National Citizens Advice. There is a Management Committee with two fte paid staff plus 40 volunteers including trained Advisors and Money Advisors, Social Policy, IT and Admin staff. Their work is mainly funded by the Friends of CAB Charity Shop with a further 40 volunteers. Also by donations plus a partial grant from Social Security
